Zomba District Council will on Friday, close down its offices for disinfection against COVID-19 pandemic
According to a communication by the District Commissioner, Dr Smart Gwedemula, the council shall stop its businesses on Friday at noon and resume next week on Monday.
The communication by the DC follows a directive from the Capitol Hill in Lilongwe where the Chief Secretary’s office asked for disinfection of all government offices for fear of spreading the Corona virus.
“Colleagues all council offices shall be closed Friday midday for disinfection. Make sure that you assign someone to take charge of your office keys so that the exercise goes smoothly,” reads part of the communication.
Zomba District Council joins few other local councils in the country that recently closed down their offices for disinfection.
