Chakwera declares his assets

President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera has made fresh asserts declaration to the Office of the Director of Public Officers’ Declarations barely two months after ascending to the High Office of the land, faceofmalawi can reveal.

Presidential Press Officer Sean Kampondeni confirmed of the development in an interview, saying the assets declared is an update to What Chakwera declared in 2019.

In 2019 while serving as member of Parliament for Lilongwe North West, Chakwera estimated his total assets at K272 million.

Chakwera indicated that he had K43 million cash in various bank accounts, including one in the United States of America. The local banks holding Chakwera’s cash included FDH Bank (K27 486 584), National Bank of Malawi plc (K3 486 362.40), First Capital Bank plc (K1.3 million) and Wells Fargo USA ($15 000 or K11.2 million).

Faceofmalawi will update you on the new declaration of assets by the 6th President of the country.
