The ministry of finance has described as fake a statement informing the public of international Monetary Fund’s disbursement of money o accessed by entrepreneurs in the country at a zero interest rate.
This week, a press statement purportedly to have been issued by ministry of finance Felix Mlusu has been circulating on various social media platforms asking young entrepreneurs to express their interest to acquire a zero interest rate loans meant to boost their businesses in this time of Covid-19.
William Banda minister of finance spokesperson has dismissed the statement saying it is the work of some internet users working tirelessly to defraud people in this time when corona virus has hit most world economies.
According to Banda, the minister has formal channels through which he relays important messages thus disowning the Facebook account bearing the ministers name that is disseminating the said message.
He said meanwhile, minister of information in conjunction with other state agencies has instituted an investigation to track down people that created the fake ministers Facebook account.
