Jeffrey wa Jeffrey dares Mutharika: ‘Am not going anywhere’

Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Secretary General Grezelder Jeffrey has refused to resign from the party following her comments that the party’s leader Peter Mutharika has done his part and that the party needs an early elective convention.

Mutharika through DPP Administrative Secretary Francis Mphepo fired Jeffrey from her post supporting calls for convention.

Jeffrery confirmed receiving a comminique on the matter but she has rejected the call by Mutharika.

Earlier, Jeffrey wa Jeffrey accepted the firing, saying she is planning to quit frontline politics and concentrate on farming activities at her home village in Nkhotakota.

“I am not worried…actually this is good for me. I will be going home in Nkhotakhota,” she said.

Meanwhile DPP Director of Elections Ben Phiri has also resign from his position with immediate effect.
