15-Year-Old Girl Sedated, Gang-Raped, Pushed into Flesh Trade After Being Promised job in Beauty Parlour

In a horrifying incident reported Uttar Pradesh, which has recently been in news for multiple rape and murder cases, a 15-year-old girl was allegedly drugged, gang-raped and pushed into flesh trade in Varanasi’s Ramnagar area. The minor girl managed to escape from her captor and approached the police on the night of August 16.

A Ramnagar Police official stated that the minor survivor is a native of a village in Mirzapur district’s Chunar area. She told the police that on June 15, she was brought to Varanasi by a woman from her village for employment at a beauty parlour. She joined work on the first day itself. After working for a fortnight, the beauty parlour owner began giving her drugs and sedative pills and pushed her into flesh trade. The teenager told the police that the beauty parlour owner confined her in a house in the city’s Gola Ghat area. She was first sexually assaulted by a youth there and later, a dozen men raped her.

Ramnagar Police approached Chunar Police after the girl narrated the matter. Chunar Police told them that they had received a missing complaint on July 12, following which an FIR was registered. Subsequently, the girl was handed over to Chunar Police as they have registered a case, according to a report by Hindustan Times.

The minor girl, in her statement, has named around 12 people, including three women, for allegedly exploiting her. Based in the girl’s statement, Chunapur police have added relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code to the FIR. Charges under the POCSO Act have also been added. All the accused are at large and the police are conducting searches for arresting them.
