A 32-year-old Zimbabwean man was arrested for stabbing his neighbor’s eight-month pregnant wife to death, whom he was involved in an affair with.
According to iHarare, on the 9th of August at around 7 am Fidelis Chido stabbed to death Sharon John age 33 whom he was having an affair with.
Acting police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Fidelis Dhewu confirmed the tragic incident to a local publication. He said Chido was assisting the police with the investigations.
On the day of the tragic incident, Sharon’s husband Joseph Farau age 39, who is a cattle herder at a nearby farm, went to work as usual leaving his pregnant wife at home all alone.
It is alleged that, 40 minutes after he had left, Chido was seen walking towards Farau’s house by a neighbor Mr. Muganhu. However, a few minutes later Chido was again seen running outside the house holding a blood-stained object while his clothes had blood on them.
“Muganhu alerted other neighbors who gave chase but failed to apprehend him. One of the neighbors Gerald Bvunza (30) went inside the house and found the deceased lying in a pool of blood,” said Assistant Inspector Dhewu.
A report was made at Mvurwi Police Station and police tended the scene. The now-deceased body was found lying in a pool of blood. She had a deep cut on the neck suspected to have been caused by a sharp object.
The body was taken to Mvurwi Hospital mortuary.
After committing the crime he went on the run and efforts to apprehend him were futile. He was only arrested on August 25.
