Misozi Chanthunya who has been sentenced to life imprisonment by the High Court in Zomba has said he will appeal the ruling.
Lawyer for Chanthunya, Michael Goba Chipeta has confirmed the development.
According to Chipeta, the life sentence imprisonment is unfair hence the decision to appeal the ruling.
Today Justice Ruth Chinangwa sentenced Chanthunya to life imprisonment with hard for killing his Zimbabwean girlfriend Linda Gasa in 2010.
Adding to that, Chanthunya has also been slapped with two years custodial sentence for the second count of hindering burial of a dead body.
On the charge of perjury, he has been sentenced to two years imprisonment.
The sentences will run concurrently.
She (Gasa) was killed in 2010 and her remains were exhumed at Mwala Lodge in Mangochi, owned by Chanthunya.
