A 19-year-old boy in South Africa has been denied bail after he was arrested for the murder of his parents.
According to local reports, the elderly couple from Frances Baard Munipality hacked to death while they lay in bed, allegedly by their 19-year-old son who later dumped them in a field a week ago.
Reports say the 57-year-old mother, Keorapetse Segae was just back from hospital after she suffered from severe burns which her son is suspected of causing. While lying in bed with her husband, Gaseitsewe, they were both hacked to death.
Segae’s former colleague who spoke on condition of anonymity said the son, Tebogo was also a drug addict.
Appearing in court, the Pampierstad Magistrate Court denied Tebogo bail and he had turned down assistance from Legal Aid as he opted to represent himself according to Mojalefa Senokoatsane from the National Prosecuting Authority and confirmed that the teenager will reappear in court on the 20th of October.
