President Lazarus Chakwera has honored his pledge towards guitarist William Kachigamba who is requiring a medical attention for his cancer treatment as he has given him K2 Million.
Chakwera made the pledge few weeks to Blantyre based musician Patience Namadingo who posed as a statue at Ginnery Corner in the commercial city of Blantyre as part of fundraising for Kachigamba’s treatment.
Kachigamba was in need of K3 million to get his cancer treatment in the neighboring Zambia.
As Namadingo was in the process of raising funds for Kachigamba, President Chakwera ordered Namadingo to come down and promised to pay the remaining amount.
Namadingo received the money yesterday through the Presidential Advisor on Arts and Youth, Lucius Banda at his office in Lilongwe.
Over K6 million has been made in total.
