Nankhumwa appearing before DPP’s disciplinary committee

Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Vice President for the South Kondwani Nankhumwa is today appearing before the party’s disciplinary committee at Golden Peacock in Lilongwe.

Nankhumwa is accused of declaring himself as leader of opposition, defying Peter Mutharika’s appointment.

It is alleged that Mutharika appointment former Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation and Water Development Dr. George Chaponda and Nankhumwa was appointed as the Party’s Chief Whip in Parliament.

Meanwhile suspected DPP youth cadets have assembled at Golden Peacock in Lilongwe’s City Centre to cheer Nankhumwa.

The grouping is against the move taken by the party to discipline Chaponda.

The group is being led by member of Parliament for Mulanje Bale, Victor Musowa .
