DPP National Director of Operations Mwai Kamuyambeni resigns

Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) National Director of Operations Reverend Mwai Kamuyambeni has resigned from his position and the party with immediate effect.

Kuyambeni who is also Member of Parliament for Ntcheu District confirmed of the development in a statement made available to faceofmalawi.

“I write to inform you that I have made the decision to resign as National Director Of Operations as well as a member of DPP with immediate effect.

“Having worked with the party in various other capacity it has indeed been a difficult step to take as I am indebted to the DPP family for the trust you accorded me as National Director Of Operations,” reads in part the statement.

He added: “It is an honour when one is called to serve and I have gained much knowledge and experience from my role, and most especially from His Excellency Proffesor Peter Mutharika. I would like to express my gratitude to His Excellency, each of you honourable members and the party as a whole for the honour that was rendered to me to serve.

“I believe there will be great opportunties to interact in the future and this is only a stepping stone to the new seasons ahead of us all.”

Kamuyambeni has not disclosed the reasons behind his resignation.

Unconfirmed reports indicate that Kamuyambeni want to join the United Transformation Movement (UTM) of Dr. Saulos Chilima.
