Zambian Man Impregnates Sick Neighbor’s ‘Adulterous’ Wife, Denies Child

Magistrates Court has been told that DNA test arrangements are being facilitated by The University Teaching Hospital to ascertain the parentage of a toddler who may have been fathered by a neighbour after the woman failed to suppress her sexual appetite following her husband’s illness.

In this matter Christopher Chanda ,31. of Choma’s Zambia Township has been dragged to Court by Godfrey Muyuni 38, in a civil lawsuit on allegations of impregnating his wife.

Muyuni who is the Plaintiff is claiming K40,000 in compensation from Chanda his neighbour after he admitted to being in an adulterous affair with his wife though he has denied responsibility of the pregnancy.

According to Muyuni’s wife, she started a sexual relationship with Chanda which resulted into the blessing of a child early this year following her husband’s failure to perform his bedroom duties because of ill health.

But when the matter came up for ‘’Status’’ on how far the two families have gone in making preparations for the DNA test , the two families informed the Court that they were still making arrangements through The University Teaching Hospital to send samples to South Africa.

In defense earlier, the defendant continuously denied responsibility of the Pregnancy, he testified that during a meeting, he admitted to having an affair with Muyuni’s 29 years old wife. He told the Court that the plaintiff forgave him after paying K500.

“I admitted in the meeting and the plaintiff stated that he had forgiven me. He asked for K500 to meet the costs which I paid the same day” he testified.
Chanda went on to say that after sometime he was just shocked to receive a summon alleging that he had impregnated his neighbour’s wife.
“Yes, I was in a relationship with your wife, but that was not my pregnancy,” Chanda responded in cross examination.

After the close of defense and analysing the evidence from both parties, Magistrate Mupemo ordered that DNA test be conducted on the Plaintiff, Defendant and the child before judgement could be passed.

The matter will come up on October 20 for another progress status on the DNA test results.
