Hyena kills a woman in Mzimba

A woman is reported dead while seven others have sustained various degrees of injuries after a marauding hyena attacked them.

Mzimba police officials confirmed of the development in an interview with the press, saying the incident happened in the area of group village headman Kamangadazi Makamo in Mzimba district Saturday night.

The woman was seriously injured as she was trying to rescue her child from the Hyena and she was pronounced dead upon arrival at Mzimba District Hospital.

Four of the victims of the attack have been referred to Mzuzu Central Hospital for further treatment.

Meanwhile the Hyena has been killed by the villagers.
