A seven-months pregnant woman has been admitted to Dedza District Hospital today after she was allegedly forced to drink poison on suspicion she had a hand in the death of someone.
Dedza Deputy Police Spokesperson, Cassim Manda confirmed of the development in an interview with the press
According to Manda, the incident followed a fight over a debt at Nazikhale village in TA Kamenyagwaza’s during which a boy aged 14 collapsed and died.
A mob later stormed the house of the pregnant woman and forced her drink the poison after some relations to the deceased spread a story that the woman stoned the boy.
