Chakwera delegates Mia to attend Magufuli’s inauguration

President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera has delegated Minister of of Transport Sidik Mia to represent him at the inauguration of Tanzania President John Pombe Magufuri.

Magufuli’s inauguration comes barely a week after Tanzanians went to polls.

Last week, Magufuli won a second term, with a landslide victory of more than 84% of the vote while his main opponent, Tundu Lissu, earned 13% of the vote.

According to media reports, Mia who is also Malawi Congress Party (MCP) Vice President has been accompanied by Minister of Information and Communication Technology Gospel Kazako.

Mia’s delegation has attracted mixed reaction on social media with many Malawians claiming that the State Vice President Dr. Saulos Chilima was suitable for the trip.

Government is yet to comment on the matter.
