Son Kills His Biological Mother After She Refused Him Money For Chamba In Mponela

Police in Mponela, Dowa are keeping in custody a 25-year-old man, Lazalo Chikunumbu for allegedly assaulting her mother to death.

The incident occurred at Chikumba village in the area of Traditional Authority Mponela in Dowa on November 2,2020 and the victim died on November 7,2020 at Dowa District Hospital.

The deceased has been identified as Naliwodi Chikunumbu 54 ,from Chikumba village in the area of Traditional authority Mponela in Dowa, District.

On November 2, 2020, Lazalo begged money from her mother (Naliwodi Chikunumbu) which he wanted to buy Chamba and her mother refused saying she had no money, from no where the suspect started assaulting her mother with hands and she become unconscious and she was taken to Mponela Rural Hospital where she was referred to Dowa District Hospital where she died on November 7, 2020 whilst receiving treatment.

The suspect will appear before court soon to answer a charge of murder which contraveness section 209 of the penal code.

Lazaro chikunumbu, 25 years, hails from Chikhumba Village in traditional authority Mponela in Dowa.
