The State House Director of Communication, Sean Kampondeni has said the president Dr. Lazurus Chakwera will not offer any favours to any individual.
Kampondeni made the remarks during State House weekly update in Lilongwe today.
He said what is happening to the Prophet Shepherd Bushiri has nothing to do with his office.
He said law enforcement agencies should be responsible for that and not office of the president.
Kampondeni has told the media that the president will let the law take its course.
Bushiri and his wife, Mary Bushiri, who are on bail, fled from South Africa where they are accused of money laundering and fraud on security issues.
According to Bushiri who spoke to the public after arriving in Malawi on Saturday, he wants the government of Malawi to intervene in his case and also the government of South Africa to assure him of a fair trial then he will return to South Africa.
He said, he will meet officials in Malawi to discuss about the issue today.
It is still not known to how Bushiri arrived in Malawi as his travel documents were confiscated by South African government.
