A 23 year old man Patrick Ndiche has died at Diamphwi Health Centre where he was rushed after being hit by a car.
The accident occurred yesterday at around 20:00 hours when Ndiche was crossing the road from right to left close to Diamphwi bridge.
The vehicle, a KIA Sorento registration number DA 6774 was being driven by Isaac Songeya, 43, of Chinganyama Village in Traditional Authority Kayembe in Dowa and he was driving from Dedza direction heading towards Lilongwe along the M1 road.
According to postmoterm results at the hospital, Ndiche has died due to severe head injuries.
Meanwhile, police are calling on drivers to observe speed limits to avoid accidents.
Ndiche hailed from Khomani Village in the area of Traditional Authority Chiseka in Lilongwe.
