Man arrested for being found in possession of 52 bags of cheap fertilizer

Police in Kasungu have arrested a 32 year old man for being found in possession of 52 bags of fertilizer allegedly to have been unlawfully obtained.
The suspect is identified as Kingsley Banda.

The suspect was arrested on Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at Chaima trading centre after police were tipped that Banda had unlawfully bought the bags of fertilizer under the Affordable Inputs Program.

Following the tip, police detectives raided the suspect’s house where upon searching it found 34 bags of Urea and 18 bags of NPK fertilizer respectively which he failed to account for it terms of how he obtained them.

He has been charged with an offence of being Found in possession of property unlawfully obtained. He will appear in court soon.

Kingsley Banda comes from Chaima village, Traditional Authority Chaima in Kasungu district.
