Police in Dowa, rescued a 38 year old woman from angry mob who wanted to kill her for practicing witchcraft.
Dowa Police publicist Gladson M’bumpha confirmed of the development and identified the woman as Annie Black.
According to M’bumpha, the woman was being accused of teaching children witchcraft the development which angered the villagers and opted to get rid of her.
M’bumpha added that when the reports broke first that Black is teaching children witchcraft, she was evicted from the by the village headman in Mdzikometsa village.
However, last night the people of Mdzikometsa ganged up to deal with her, that’s when the police got the tip and arrived at scene.
In the process of rescuing the woman, villagers smashed the windscreen of a police vehicle.
