Government has set aside December 15, 2020 to April 15, 2021 as a period of planting trees.
Government says it intends to plant 60 million trees in the 2020/21 tree planting season.
This is 10 million more than those planted in the previous season.
This year’s tree planting season has been themed “Trees and forests for improved Health and well-being.
Nancy Tembo, Forestry and Natural Resources minister has encouraged the general masses to plant a tree or more during the season.
Meanwhile, President Lazarus Chakwera is expected to preside over the launch of 2020/21 tree planting season.
