Chisale’s fake certificate case adjourned to January 11

The Senior Resident Magistrate court in Lilongwe on Thursday adjourned a case involving Norman Chisale to 11 January next year where a ruling on objections made by defense will be made.

Chisale who is security aide to former President Peter Mutharika was in court today for continuation of his trial where he is being accused of personating a person named in a JCE certificate, presenting false information to a person employed in public office and intimidation.

The objections being made are relating to a request by the state to amend the charge sheet.

Senior Resident Magistrate Shyreen Yona Chirwa has directed the defense to submit submissions to the court by 4 January 2021 and the state to do the same on 8 January 2021.

Chisale remains on bail as trial continues.
