7-Year-Old Boy Jumps Through Window Into Burning Home To Save Baby Sister

New Tazewell, Tennessee: A 7-year-old boy went back into the burning house of his family to rescue his little sister.

Eli jumped through a window into 22-month-old Erin’s room to bring the toddler to safety.

Their home was subsequently destroyed by the fire on December 8.

Parents Nicole and Chris Davidson had put their three kids to sleep and went to bed themselves by 8:30 pm.

But a few hours later, the mother woke up to the thick smell of smoke and the house was already burning within a matter of minutes.

They were able to fetch Eli and their 2-year-old boy Elijah but couldn’t get to Erin’s room as it was surrounded by flames, Chris told CNN.

They then tried to get inside through the window of her room.

“There was nothing for me to stand on to reach up there, so I picked up Eli, who went through the window and was able to grab her from her crib,” Chris said.

Eli went on to say:

“I thought I couldn’t do it, but then I said, ‘I got her, dad’.

“I was scared, but I didn’t want my sister to die.”

Eli’s parents are incredibly proud of him and say he did something many grown-ups would never have the courage to do.

Emergency services arrived at the scene but the house could not be saved.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to help the family. It says:

“Nicole Davison Tri State Health & Rehabilitation A/P & Payroll Coordinator lost her home to a fire early Wednesday morning December 9th 2020.

“Thankfully, everyone inside the home made it out safely in time.

“The fire escalated quickly and the house was a total loss. I cannot imagine how difficult this must be for them.

“Any help or support we can provide would be greatly appreciated.”
