29 year old Zambian woman is reported to have poured hot water on her 40 year old husband for allegedly slapping her because she came home late.
According to reports, the lady Susan Mundlongwa left her matrimonial home on December 31, 2020 and came back in the late hours of the New Year day, a development which angered Dereck Bwalya, the husband.
Zambian Police spokesperson Esther Mwaata Katongo confirmed of the incident who later added that Bwalya has been admitted to Matero Hospital where he is receiving treatment from the injuries he got.
Katongo said upon returning home “late”, Mundlongwa’s husband reacted angrily and slapped her.
“The wife is reported to have picked a pot containing hot water which was on a brazier and poured on her husband and he sustained serious burns on the lower abdomen and other parts of the body,” she explained.
Katongo explained that Mundlongwa bolted after the incident but after “sobering up” she went to visit her husband at the hospital where she was apprehended.
On the other hand the lady is being detained at police station with charges of inflicting grievous bodily harm.
