APM Warns Covid-19 Is Real ‘Mask Up’

Former Head of State Peter Mutharika has warned Malawians to continue adhering to Covid-19 guidelines as the country is now registering high cases of the global pandemic.

“I have been following the updates from the Presidential Taskforce on COVID-19. COVID-19 is real,” Mutharika said.

Writing on his official Facebook page, Mutharika said that it cannot be disputed that Malawi is now affected with the new strain of the virus which is more dangerous than the first one.

“And authorities are confirming that Malawi now has the new strain of the virus which is more infectious and devastating,” he added.

He therefore called on the populace to continue following and adhering to Covid-19 guidelines which were gazzeted by the Ministry of Health in order to halt the spread of the virus.

“I urge you my fellow countrymen to always make sure to mask up, avoid crowded places, sanitize and wash hands regularly,” he pleaded.

Mutharika has also asked Malawians to continue taking care and supporting each other during the pandemic promising that God will take us through.

On the other and President Lazarus Chakwera revealed that he has gone into a 21 day of fasting and prayer to seek God’s intervention on the matter.
