Sidik Mia To Be Buried In Chikwawa


The remains of Mohammed Sidik Mia who was the Vice President for Malawi Congress Party (MCP) will be buried in Ngabu Chikwawa district.

Mia, who was the Minister of Transport and Public Works, died earlier today from the novel Coronavirus.

Last week Mia, through his official Facebook page announced that he has tested positive for Covid-19 but was quick to announce that he was doing well until yesterday when he was admitted to Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital (QECH).

Today alone Malawi has lost two cabinet ministers, Mia and Lingson Belekanyama who was the Minister of Local Government and Rural Development.

Meanwhile, President Lazarus Chakwera has declared a three day morning period following the latest Covid19 deaths including two ministers, Sidik Mia and Lingson Belekanyama.

He has also ordered that national flags should fly at half mask for high levels to mourn those that have lost their lives to the pandemic.
