UDF Mourns Minister Belekanyama

United Democratic Front (UDF) has described the late Lingson Belekanyama who has died today after succumbing to the global pandemic Coronavirus as a good friend, a hard worker and patriotic citizen of the country.

In a statement made available to Face of Malawi UDF has sent its deepest condolences to the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) family where Belekanyama has been a member.

According to the statement, UDF said President Lazarus Chakwera and MPC has lost a valuable and experienced colleague whom they said he dedicated his life in serving people of his constituency.

“The People of Lilongwe, Msinja South Constituency whom he has diligently served for over 20 years as a loyal dedicated Member of Parliament, will feel he loss,” reads the press statement.

UDF has said throughout his years in Politics, Belekanyama has been known as a good friend.

Meanwhile, MCP’s vice president Sidik Mia has also died from the virus.

until his death, Belekanyama was a Minister of Local Government and Rural Development.
