Lilongwe Girls Secondary School COVID-19 updates: 311 students test positive

The Ministry of Education has disclosed that out of 605 students at Lilongwe Girls Secondary School, 311 have tested positive for Covid-19, representing 51.4 percent.

Secretary for Education Chikondano Mussa says those that tested positive have been isolated and are using separate dormitory, kitchen and other facilities.

She has further indicated that five members of the staff have also tested positive.

President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera on Sunday night ordered for temporary closure of schools to control the spread of COVID-19 which is claiming more lives every day in the country.

The President also ordered that all learners in boarding school should remain there.
