MCP- diaspora RSA wing to fundraise towards Covid-19 fight in Malawi

Date:

Malawians living in South Africa under the banner of MCP- have pledged to fundraise towards #COVID19 fight in Malawi amid souring cases of the pandemic in the country.

The fundraising exercise is also meant to help Malawians in the diaspora who are suffering due to covid-19.

The Chairperson for the MCP-RSA diaspora wing Runford Madalitso Kambaika said the fund is expected to be launched in the month end of January and is expected to raise funds towards support for Covid-19 pandemic in Malawi and for other citizens in the diaspora.

Kambaika said Malawians need to see it as a reality that the Covid 19 has hit home and hence the need to review individual behaviours to contain the pandemic.

He said “Our sincere outcry is that the country’s health service is not capable of handling the pandemic of this magnitude and as diaspora we have thought to fundraise for our country to get More oxygen cylinders, sanitizer among others.”
