Member of Parliament (MP) for Blantyre City South Noel Lipipa has donated his full salary of the month of January towards the fight of Coronavirus.
Onjezani Kenani who is leading the Covid-19 Response Citizens Initiative broke the news this morning while appreciating the gesture made by Lipipa.
“We’re totally stunned by the support from the Honourable Noel Lipipa, MP for Blantyre City South, who has donated his entire salary for the month of January, to the initiative. Thank you very much, Sir,” Kenani said.
Lipipa has joined other Malawians of good will who are donating towards the fight of the pandemic.
Weeks ago, President Lazarus Chakwera asked the general public to donate to the ministry of health if the country is to win the fight against Coronavirus.
So far the Citizens Initiative has managed to raise over 100 million kwacha and managed to buy oxygen cylinders and other needed necessities.
