CLOSURE OF SCHOOLS EXTENDED TO 2-WEEKS

The Minister of Health Khumbize Kandodo Chiponda has said that School will remain closed for another two weeks.

The Minister who is also in the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 has disclosed this in their daily press briefing on COVID-19.

According to Chiponda, Presidential Task Force has agreed with Education cluster to keep the schools closed for another two weeks.

The Minister went on to urge all boarding schools to realese all learners as the students who tested positive to COVID-19, have now tested negative.

The state president of Malawi Dr.Lazarus Chakwera ruled out closure of schools on January 12,2021 due to upsurge in COVID-19 cases in Malawi.
