LUMBADZI POLICE ARREST 5 FOR BEING FOUND IN POSSESSION OF PIRATED COPIES OF CDS

Lumbadzi Police is keeping in custody five men for the offences of being found in possession of pirated copies of CDs without authorization and offering for sale for business purposes contrary to Section 113 of the 2016 Copyright Act.

“The suspects were arrested on Thursday, February 5, 2021, in Lilongwe City Centre by COSOMA Inspectors.” Sergeant Felix Kwinyani said

“The five are Jimmy Francisco, 29, of Sambira Village, Traditional Authority Chimutu in Lilongwe, Mika Chiwanda, 38 of Alasala Village in Ntcheu, Richard Kapasule, 34, of Mtokota Village, Traditional Authority Mwambo in Zomba and Innocent Dolichi, 29, and Richard Juwawo, 43, both of Sekeni Village, Traditional Authority Lundu in Chikwawa.” Sergeant  Kwinyani added

The five have since been taken statements and are expected to appear before the court soon to answer charges of being in possession of pirated copies and offering them for sale.
