Nursing students allowed to continue with classes

Final year students in nursing and midwifery training have been allowed to continue studying during the temporarily closure of schools in the country.

The National Organisation of Nurses and Midwives in Malawi-NOMN and Association of Midwives in Malawi applied for a waiver on the same.

In a letter seen by the press, addressed to the presidents of the the 2 bodies, Secretary for Health Charles Mwansambo discloses of the approval of the waiver.

They will be remain in their campuses for the next 2 weeks.

Last week the Presidential task force on COVID-19 extended school closure by two weeks and urged all learners in boarding school to go to their respective homes.

The move has attracted mixed reactions with others blaming government on the matter.
