Police in Zomba are keeping in custody Khumbo Maida aged 21 for possessing medical drugs without a license.
On February 8, 2021, the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) officers from Domasi Police got the information that the suspect was offering for sale assorted drugs without license .
Follow up was made which led to the arrest of the suspect and all the medical drugs were seized. The drugs include: Amoxicillin, Diclofenac, salbutamol among others.
He will appear before court soon after further investigations.
Police in the district are warning the public to avoid buying drugs from unlicensed traders, citing they may buy already expired drugs.
Khumbo Maids comes from Masupi Village, Traditional Authority Malemia in Zomba District.
