Unknown thugs on Wednesday night attacked Prophet Shepherd Bushiri’s Public Relations Officer (PRO) Ephraim Nyondo in the capital Lilongwe.
Nyondo confirmed of the development in a facebook post seen by this publication.
According to Nyondo, the thugs also went away with his cellphone, bank cards, cash and a laptop.
“Friends and relatives last night I experienced an unfortunate happening.
“Just few meters away from my house, I got stopped by 5 gentlemen in police gear. Forced me to get out of the car, and then beaten to the blood. They took my phone, bank cards, cash, ID, laptop and all work documents I was with in the car,” wrote Nyondo
He added: “Thank God a passer-by managed to intervene, helped me wake up and got me home. With bruises, though, I am now fine.
“I can, for now, be reached through Facebook messenger and Telegram until further notice.”
Meanwhile police have launched a manhunt for the alleged thugs.
