Central Region Water Board employees down tools

Central Region Water Board employees have started a sit-in to protest against the board’s decision to re-instate two directors at the board.

The strike has affected Water Board offices found in three districts namely; Lilongwe, Mchinji and Kasungu.

The disgruntled employees have closed the main entrance with tree branches, huge stones.

The workers last year, through their Union, demanded the removal of Director of Finance and Administration Ernest Mtawali and Director of Technical Services John Makwenda from management for poor policy implementation.
