Learners protest teachers strike in Mzuzu

Information reaching this publication indicates that learners in Mzuzu have taken to the street to protest against the ongoing stand off between teachers in public schools and government over the provision of risk allowances.

The development comes barely hours after teachers resumed the stay away aimed at forcing the Tonse Alliance government of Dr. Lazarus Chakwera to provide them with COVID-19 risk allowances.

According to information at hand, the protest by learners in Mzuzu has caused the traffic-jam in the highway.

Meanhwile police have rushed to the scene to control the situation.
