Member of Parliament for Kasungu West Jailosi Bonongwe on Sunday has launched a self –help road rehabilitation initiative in which communities are being urged to rehabilitate earth roads without alms.
Bonongwe says this is aimed at improving road networks in the constituency especially now that some communities are cut off from social services due to poor roads.
Meanwhile Senior Group Village Headman Mawawa of the area thinks such initiatives restore patriotism among citizens to own developmental projects as it was the case before multiparty era.
In additional to that the local leader and Bonongwe have asked government to pay attention to people’s cry in the constituency to upgrade the Linga – Nthunduwala earth road which they say is impassable and its status cannot be maintained by manual work.
