At least six people have been arrested in Mzimba for being found in possession of 9 bags of cannabis sativa also known as Chamba.
Mzimba police spokesperson Peter Botha confirmed of the arrests.
According to Botha, the suspects were found with 9 bags each weighing 50 kilograms without permit.
The police also seized three laptop bags filled with the illicit drug from the suspects.
Botha also added that two other people are on the run after they escaped arrest and abandoned four bags of Chamba at Luviri bus stage.
