OVER 250,000 PEOPLE VACCINATED

As the Malawi Government continues lobbying the public to get vaccinated against the Coronavirus towards attaining protection from adverse effects of the pandemic, the Health Ministry has disclosed 277,000 people have received the Covid-19 vaccine since the rollout of the exercise last month.

The figure is significantly higher than the 230,668 tests undertaken since the Covid was first detected in the country 12 months ago.

The Minister of Health, who is also the Presidential Taskforce Co-chairperson Khumbize Kandodo Chiponda has since commended the development while expressing satisfaction with the way the public is responding to the exercise.

Chiponda further indicated that Malawi’s positivity and morbidity rates continue to remain low.

However, the Taskforce since continued to appeal to the public to continue following Covid-19 preventive measures to achieve total victory against the pandemic.
