Miscreants Thrash Truck Driver, ‘Hijack’ Vehicle Carrying Over 50 Oxygen Cylinders In India

A group of miscreants allegedly hijacked a truck carrying over 50 oxygen cylinders and demanded Rs 1 lakh from the owner for its release. The truck was on its way to a hospital in Amroha from Delhi when it was intercepted by the accused. The accused also assaulted the truck driver.

The truck was hijacked in Sihani Gate area. On Sunday night, a collision took place between a truck and a Bolero near Ghukna mod. The driver of the truck was identified as Amod.

The driver of the Bolero called some of his friends to the spot. The accused then hijacked the truck and took it to the railway line in Vasundhara near Hindon River. The accused did not stop here, they allegedly brutally thrashed Amod and recorded a video of the assault. They also sent the video to the owner of the truck.

The accused asked the owner of the truck and asked him to pay Rs 1 lakh. The truck driver told the accused that patients were waiting for the oxygen cylinders but the accused refused to let him go, The Times of India reported.

After four hours, the accused dumped the driver on Meerut Road and asked him to contact them when he got the money. The accused were identified as Tinku, Jitendra Kumar Singh and Vinay Chauhan.

The police booked the accused under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The cops launched a probe after they received the complaint and arrested the accused from Hapur Road in Ghaziabad. The cops also recovered the truck from the possession of the accused and sent it to Amroha.
