Five Nabbed For Contravening Govt’s Farm-gate Laws In Mzimba


Police in Mzimba have arrested five agro-dealers for contravening government’s set farm-gate laws. 

John Nyirongo, Mzimba Police deputy Public Relations Officer, confirmed of the development.

According to Nyirongo, the suspects, were found using uncertified scales and operating business without licenses at Manyamula and Engalaweni markets on 1st May.

Nyirongo said police have also seized 3 uncertified weighing scales during the operation.

He further warned illegal traders against buying farm produce below the minimum farmgate price.
