Man (21) Hangs Himself After His Newly Married Wife (18) Denies Him S_ex

In Zimbabwe, a 21-year-old man in Gweru district committed suicide by hanging after he was reportedly denied conjugal rights by his 18-year-old wife on Tuesday last week.

According to iHarare, Councillor Adam Shava said the now-deceased man, Dumisani Matonsi had a misunderstanding over conjugal rights with his newly-married wife.

In protest, he then walked out of the bedroom.

It was reported that after about an hour of the husband walking out of the bedroom, the wife, Sarah Mazambatate woke up to check out on him only to find him hanging on a tree branch within the yard.

The matter was then reported to Gweru Rural Police Station.

In other news from Zimbabwe, a man is said to have also committed suicide while in police cell where he was detained for allegedly killing his wife, reported iHarare.

He allegedly used the seam of a blanket to hang himself last Friday.

The now deceased suspect, Maqawe Maseko (31) had been on the run after allegedly killing his wife last month.

Maseko sought refuge in Lupane before a relative tipped police who arrested and detained him at Lupane Police Station. ‌

Police national spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the incident and said investigations are in progress.
