A mob in Blantyre has killed a suspected thief at Mindano village in the district.
According to report, the night of the 30th May, 2021, Gift Wilson ( now deceased ) broke into the house of Rodgers William where he was caught stealing bags of maize.
Rodgers struggled to apprehend Wilson as such he shouted for help.
Members of the community responded by rushing to the house of William where they overpowered and assaulted the suspect severely.
The owner of the house reported the matter to Chilomoni police.
The officers on duty rushed to the scene where they found the suspect unconscious.
The police took him to Chilomoni health center where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
Police have since instituted investigations to trace the perpetrators of the crime. In this regard police is warning members of the public to desist from taking the law into their own hands but rather report to police of any suspected criminals
