Road accident that occurred at Dunduzu in Mzuzu, around noon Yesterday has killed a bus driver and 16 passengers on various injuries.
Malawi Police Spokesperson for the North, Maurice Chapola has confirmed the development.
Chapola identify the deceased as Joseph Maganga who was driving a Sososo bus from Mzuzu to Karonga.
Chapola also cited that 16 other passengers have sustained various degrees of injuries and are receiving medical treatment at the Mzuzu Central Hospital.
Police say they suspect that the driver of a Tipper that was coming from the opposite direction lost control of the vehicle and it collided with the sososo bus.
The bus had 46 passengers on board.
