Politician and renowned women rights activist Jessie Kabwira has warned foreign nationals and Malawians of foreign descent against perpetrating abuse of the citizenry.

Kabwila was speaking in reference to the recent abuse a Malawian worker Benadetta Tchale suffered at the hands of her boss Adil Patel, an employee at KFC Malawi in Lilongwe.

Kabwira said Patel has since apologized to Tchale after the matter was taken to court.

According to Kabwira, Tchale was represented by the Women Lawyers Association and pledged to continue fighting for the rights of women.

Tchale has been compensated K1 million after the legal counsel representing Patel asked the court to have the matter resolved in an out-of-court settlement.

Kabwila however called on foreigners to respect the integrity of women.
