Zimbabwean Woman Keeps Decomposing Body Of A Baby In The House[Graphic Picture]

In a rather disturbing development, a woman from Chipinge is alleged to have been keeping a decomposing body of her baby in the house.

The mother of the child who has only been identified as Barbra together with her mother (name not supplied) from a Medium Density suburb in Chipinge are alleged to have been keeping the body of the 3-week old baby in their house.

The matter only came to light after neighbours complained of a heavy stench coming from the house. They reported the matter to Police and detectives reportedly went to Barbra’s place of residence and were shocked to find the body of a baby rotting in a blanket on the floor.

Narrating what happened, one of the residents who reported the matter to the police said;

“We were attracted by a heavy smell. We called a Police officer who was just passing by and he attended the scene. Later on, CID detectives came to the house to question the two but to no avail. The detectives were shocked when they saw the body lying on the floor, covered in a blanket.”

Police have since taken away the body for postmortem. Barbra and her mother have since been taken in for questioning.

District Community Relations Liason Officer Assistant Inspector Jawett Kamera confirmed the matter to a local publication, but said details were still sketchy as the suspected mother of the dead child and her mother are not answering questions from the Police.

“It is not clear when the baby was born and how it died,” he said.

No one from the neighbourhood really knows what transpired because the family lives isolated in their small cabin.

However, according to another source who spoke on condition of anonymity, this is not the first time Barbra and her mother have kept a dead body at their place of residence.

“This is not happening for the first time. There was an incident again at the same house. A young boy who is a brother to Barbra died. For days, the mother would carry him in and outside the house. It was reported and the body was then buried. It is a strange family, ” said the source

The source suspects that Barbra and her mother could be mentally unstable.
