FORMER RBM GOVERNOR KABAMBE GOES HIDING AS POLICE ARREST FORMER BANK DIRECTORS

Reports reaching this media house have disclosed that Former Reserve Bank Governor Dalitso Kabambe is on the run following revelations that he authorized the transfer of K4.5 billion to FDH Banks the night before the Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) announced the nullified Fresh Presidential election.

The FDH Bank account number 1024883104001 is held in the name of the Chief Elections Officer which corporate governance experts and commentators faulted.

The Police have since arrested Deputy Governor Henry Mathanga, who is also involved in the challenge for constructive dismissal.

It is also reported that the police have arrested retired Director Rodrick Wiyo, and serving manager, Leah Ndonga whom the forensic audit report of the bank exposed as having a hand in the Covid 19 funds plunder.

Meanwhile, Kabambe, the former ruling Democratic Progressive Party presidential aspirant, had given an excuse for not reporting to the National Police headquarters in Lilongwe Area 3 on Sunday, June 2.

Kabambe served as RBM Governor during the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) administration and was fired after President Lazarus Chakwera came into power.
