A man in Rajkot, Gujarat, allegedly murdered a 70-year-old man after the latter demanded sexual favours from his wife. The incident took place in Virnagar village of Jasdan taluka, Rajkot. The case came to light when the deceased was found at his farm on Friday. The case was solved on Wednesday.
The accused was identified as Sanjay alias Pratap alias Pravi Chorodia. A resident of Mota Dadva village in Gondal taluka, the accused allegedly murdered Shanker Vekaria.
Reportedly, the 70-year-old man had been demanding sexual favours from Sanjay’s wife. On some of the occasions, Vekaria had even forcefully held Sanjay’s wife. When Sanjay learned about the elderly man’s intentions, he took the decision of murdering him.
On June 25, Vekaria’s body was found at his farm with his legs tied to a wooden pillar and he had been gagged with a cloth,¬†The Times of India¬†reported. The body did not bear any injury marks. Reportedly, Sanjay had called the cops to inform them about Vekaria’s death. Initially, the cops suspected that Vekaria was murdered with the intention of a loot.
During the probe, however, the cops did not find any valuables from Vekaria’s possession and grew suspicious of Sanjay. On Wednesday, a forensic autopsy report revealed that the elderly man died due to strangulation and the cops detained Sanjay. During the interrogation, Sanjay broke down and confessed to killing Vekaria. He was then arrested by the cops.
