At least two people have died in road accidents during this year’s independence holiday, according to Malawi Police Service (MPS).
In a statement signed by James Kadadzera, National Police Spokesperson, the police recorded a total of 30 road accidents during the celebrations.
According to Kadadzera, there is a decline of the registered accidents compared to last year.
“The Malawi Police Service (MPS) recorded thirty (30) road accidents during this year’s Independence holiday. In comparison, thirty six (36) road accidents were reported during last year’s Independence holiday,” Kadadzera said.
He then added that last year at least seven people lost their lives in the similar celebrations.
